LARISSA TOKMAKOVA was born in Ukraine, studied painting in Moscow and moved to New York in 1991. Her work has been widely exhibited, including at Chateau de la Napoule, Columbia University, Kunstcentrum Sitard, Deloitte-Touche HQ, Newark Academy, and Sao Paulo's Secreteria de Turismo i Cultura. A faculty member of the Saint Ann’s School in Brooklyn, Larissa has also taught painting at Ateliers Fourwinds (Aureille, France) and the Hebei Academy (China).

 
 

In 2013, LARISSA had 29 paintings on view in the lobby of The Public Theater in New York – a Tarot-based series commissioned for the month-long Mike Daisey monologue ALL THE FACES OF THE MOON:

 
 

 
 

Larissa's stage appearances include PS 122's production of Kristen Kosmas's THERE, THERE, directed by Paul Willis, revived at On The Boards in Seattle; and most recently, Elana Greenfield's WRENCH (LABA/14th Street Y). She edited the feature films HORRIBLE CHILD and WENDELL & THE LEMON, and lives in Bushwick, Brooklyn.
